Aerol Named a Top Military-Grade GSE Manufacturer for 2025 by Aerospace Defense & Review.

Seven decades of engineering leadership and mission-ready innovation earn national recognition.

Albion, MI — August 2025 — Aerol, a leading U.S. engineering firm specializing in high-performance mobility systems and ground support equipment for aerospace and defense, has been named a Top Military Grade Ground Support Equipment Manufacturer for 2025 by Aerospace Defense & Review. The recognition highlights Aerol’s long-standing dedication to engineering purpose-built, mission-ready solutions that operate where failure is not an option.

For more than 70 years, Aerol has supported defense agencies, military depots, and major aerospace organizations by designing and manufacturing application-specific casters, running gear, and ground support equipment that withstand the toughest operational environments.

“This recognition reinforces what our customers already know,” said Alex Harden, Technical Product Manager at Aerol. “Aerol goes beyond standard. We engineer movement that keeps missions moving forward — with the speed, precision, and reliability that complex aerospace and defense operations demand.”

Outstanding engineering expertise combined with vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities.

Aerol’s selection is rooted in the company’s deep engineering expertise and vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities. As part of the privately held Caster Concepts family of companies, Aerol leverages ten U.S.-based business units offering fabrication, machining, automation integration, and in-house polyurethane processing.

This unique vertical structure enables Aerol to produce custom-engineered solutions faster and with greater precision than traditional suppliers. Every critical step — from initial concept to final assembly — happens under Aerol’s roof.

“Our customers don’t have time for excuses,” said Harden. “Because we control every stage of production, we deliver exactly what the mission requires. No shortcuts. No compromises.”

Proven Performance in Mission-Critical Applications.

Aerol’s reputation has been built on decades of engineering solutions that perform under extreme conditions — from high-speed landings to harsh environmental fluctuations.

Recent projects include:

CH-53K Maintenance Dolly – Lakehurst, New Jersey

Aerol collaborated with a Department of Defense engineering depot to engineer a custom maintenance dolly capable of meeting tight height and load constraints. The team developed a hybrid mobility system that combined Aerol’s proprietary running gear with custom hubs and F-16 front landing gear tires supplied by the DoD. The result: a tool that performs reliably when the landing gear is removed from the aircraft.

U-2 Spy Plane Support — A 70-Year Partnership with Lockheed Martin

Since the earliest days of the U-2 program, Aerol has engineered wheels capable of withstanding landing speeds of 140 mph and temperature extremes from 120°F on the tarmac to -40°F at 70,000 feet. This seven-decade collaboration demonstrates Aerol’s long-term commitment to the aerospace community and its ability to build solutions that endure where others fail.

A Team Built to Solve the Impossible

Behind Aerol’s success is a technically diverse team specializing in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automated systems engineering. The company’s AS9100D certification reinforces its commitment to aerospace-grade quality and rigorous manufacturing standards.

“Our strength lies in collaboration,” Harden added. “We work side-by-side with engineering teams across the DoD and aerospace sectors to design equipment built specifically for their mission objectives. Innovation doesn’t happen on a shelf — it’s built together.”
